THE EXPO 5 - 7 March 2009
The dust has settled....
The four-yearly Transport and Heavy Equipment Expo returned to Mystery Creek Events Centre with feedback from both exhibitors and visitors on the final day as extremely positive. The total number of attendees over the three days was 13,222.
Major sponsor of THE Expo, New Zealand Truck and Driver General Manager Dave Jackson said “the enquiry level across the board has been exceptional. Feedback to us has been that THE Expo is a good quality show and the exhibitors are extremely positive.”
His comments were echoed by Southpac Trucks General Sales Manager Richard Smart, who said “we received a lot of unexpected business and have made a number of sales off our site of both new and used trucks. We are going back on Monday to fulfil lots of quotes and enquiries.”
CablePrice National Marketing and Brand Manager Glenn Croasdale felt the show was well worth the investment. “We made tangible sales on a number of different fronts and felt bringing Sven-Erik “Svempa” Bergendahl and his red hot rod Scania T 500 was well worthwhile.”
As the dust settles and the trucks and heavy machinery roll out, THE Expo exhibitors return to their home bases to follow up on the excellent networking opportunities the event offered and to close their post event deals.

Day 1
Gates opened at 9am to an eager crowd, with the steady stream of patrons continuing all day. Attendance numbers of 3163 were comparable to the first day of THE Expo in 2005. Feed back from exhibitors has been positive, and initial visitor surveys indicate a satisfied and entertained crowd, impressed with the quantity and quality of exhibitors.
Exhibitors range from impressive large machinery and truck sites through to construction attachments and accessories.

Day 2
Rain didn't deter crowds attending the Transport and Heavy Equipment Expo at Mystery Creek this morning. Visitor numbers for day two of the three day event were 4102, bringing total attendance thus far to 7265.
Day 3
The weather cooperated with only a few patches of early rain and with gate numbers for the final show day at 5957 the event organisers are very pleased with the total attendance of 13,222. The crowd arrived early and stayed all day taking in not only THE Expo show but also the additional 100 trucks participating in the spectacular Show 'n' Shine competition.
